a month agoI’ve had them twice this week! Lamb chop dinner and jerk chicken tips cove dinner, with the Mac, greens, and yams…..all was 10/10!! I’m very particular about my food and never eat left overs, but I got up this morning and it still tastes good! Highly recommend.

2 months agoWhen I tell you this is the best plate I had in my entire life. Man, I can’t express it enough. Everything about this place was perfect. I got my order to go but the inside looked comforting. The food was so tender and seasoned perfect. Every time I pass through east Chicago, I will be stopping in.

Edited 2 months agoMy 3rd visit here. I was disappointed by the mac and cheese it was hard this time . I didn't get hardly no sweet potatoes just mush and one potatoe! My chicken tips were fine as usual.

4 months agoI don't usually post reviews, but I should because that's how I decided to go with Ray's Caribbean Jerk to cater a couple of dishes for New Year's Eve. This was my first time doing any kind of busy here and I was stepping out on faith which was a very bad choice. The jerk wings that I received was burnt. My guest didn't even eat them. I took the pan of wings back to show the owner who prepared the food. He told me that he couldn't give me a refund and that the wings were not burnt. I will never patronize this restaurant ever again.

6 months agoA Hidden Gem – Don’t Miss Ray’s! I cannot say enough great things about Ray's! From the moment we walked in — 30 minutes before closing, no less — the staff was warm, welcoming, and incredibly accommodating. You’d never know we were cutting it close; we were treated like honored guests, not an inconvenience. The food? Absolutely phenomenal. Everything tasted fresh, thoughtfully prepared, and full of flavor. You can tell they take pride in the food they serve. The atmosphere was cozy, and despite the late hour, the service never felt hurried. Everyone from the host to the kitchen clearly values the customer experience. Ray's is the kind of place you find once and can’t stop recommending to everyone you know. Whether you're a local or just passing through, do yourself a favor and eat here. We’re already planning our next visit — and this time, we’ll make sure to come earlier so we can savor the experience even more!

9 months agoMy sister bragged so much about this establishment I had to try it. The food is great! The Customer Service was A-one and I greatly appreciate it, because in these times you don't get much of that. I did see in the back that they cater events as well. I briefly met the owner Ray and he's charming. Thank you to everyone who played a part in getting my belly full with some great food. I will be visiting again soon. P.s. these jerk tips...baby bye...to live 4! Be blessed 🙌 & NEVER stressed ✨️

9 months agoI flock to places with Tasty food and SUPERB customer service and this place is it!!! Everything was amazing I had the grilled lamb chops and rice and beans, sweet potatoes and Mac and cheese! BEST JERK RESTAURANT TO ME I traveled from the north side just to come try it out and was not disappointed.

11 months agoFive Stars for Flavor & Vibes at Ray’s Caribbean Jerk! From the moment we walked in, the customer service at Ray’s Caribbean Jerk was top-notch—friendly, welcoming, and full of good energy. They even offered us a sample of their jerk chicken, and wow—instant flavor explosion. We knew we were in for a treat. We each ordered a dinner (which comes with rice and beans plus two sides). I went with the BBQ chicken tips paired with yams, baked mac n cheese, and the classic rice and beans. Every bite was soulful and satisfying—perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. He had the jerk chicken tips with the same sides, and let’s just say there wasn’t a single bite left. The heat, the flavor, the tenderness—it’s exactly what you want from a jerk dish. To wash it down, we sipped on Skipee’s Lemonade—I had the passion fruit strawberry, and he had the grape strawberry. Both were refreshing and packed with flavor. We dined in Claude & Ray’s BoomBoom Room, which added a fun, laid-back vibe to the whole experience. We just found our new go-to jerk spot—and we’re already planning our next visit!
